The owner of Camelot Horse Center, Diane Maynard was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her first horse- back riding experience was at the age of 3 at her grandparent's ranch. In high school, Diane began taking English lessons in hunter/jumper riding from a local instructor and fell in love with the harmony Classical riding develops between horse and rider. She went on to show and compete in local shows. That love inspired her to continue and earn an International Horsemaster's degree from Morven Park International Equestrian Institute, once home of the U.S. Olympic Equestrian Team. She was invited to remain at the Institute training horses under their expert guidance. She also earned a BA in Education from Baylor University, She has spent her life-long career as a professional rider, trainer, and instructor. After competing for many years at the National and International level in dressage, jumping, and eventing, she now concentrates on passing on her knowledge to her students and their horses. She has been at her current location just west of Tomball, Texas (northwest of Houston) since 1987. |
